Hi I’m really sorry to send this to you at what might be a sensitive or stressful time for you. However, I noticed your pony name (at the time I was online) says ‘nonverbal.’ I have seen you around PT 18+ at docks a lot and you can type and communicate. Nonverbal refers to someone who is unable- via disability- to communicate verbally *all the time*. Perhaps the terminology you are looking for is “verbal shutdown?”
I used to use the term “nonverbal” to describe my verbal shutdowns as well, a while back. But after educating myself , I learned it was not the correct term to use.
I am not trying to come after you! Like I said it may be a potentially stressful time for you if you are experiencing a verbal shutdowns but I just wanted to let you know. Thank you.
